Andrew R. Spector has been a partner in the firm since 1993. He is a 1985 graduate of Emory University School of Law. Mr. Spector is a civil litigator with an extensive trial and appellate practice.
Mr. Spector has established landmark precedents in the international trade/transportation arena in cases such as Prima U.S. Inc. v. Panalpina, 223 F. 3d 126 (2nd Cir. 2000); Capital Converting Equipment v. LEP Transport, 965 F.2d 391 (7th Cir. 1992); General Electric v. Harper Robinson; 818 F. Supp 31 (E.D.N.Y., 1993); along with many other published decisions such as Abn Amro Verzekeringen BV and Hartford Fire Insurance Company v. GeoLogistics Americas, Inc., and Alfred James d/b/a Art Messenger and Delivery Service, F.Supp 2d , 2003 WL 1698867 (S.D.N.Y.); Express Air Cargo Services, Inc. v. Z Four Inc., 738 So.2d 1008 (Fla. 3rd DCA 2000); United Kingdom v. Panalpina, 1 F. Supp 2d 521 (D.Md. 1998); Ram Sourcing Agency v. Seaboard Marine, 995 F. Supp. 1465 S.D. Fla. (1997); Pacific Coral Shrimp v. Bryant Fisheries, 844 F. Supp. 1546 S.D. Fla. (1994); Winter v. Union Air-Transport, 650 So.2d 45 Fla. 3rd DCA (1994); U.S. Express v. Intercargo Insurance Company, 841 F. Supp. 1328 (E.D.N.Y. 1994); Dei Digi Calzature v. Cast and Bruzzone Shipping, 733 F.Supp 773 (S.D.N.Y. 1990); and Prigal v. Kearn, 557 So.2d 647 (Fla. 4th DCA 1990). Mr. Spector's vast experience in civil litigation includes commercial law, insurance matters, aviation, admiralty, cargo, as well as personal injury. He is a past chairman of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee. He is a member of the Aviation Insurance Association; Transportation Lawyers Association, and the National Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of America. He is a member of the State Bar of Florida, New York and Texas. He is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, Fifth Circuit, Seventh Circuit and Eleventh Circuit. He is admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, Southern District of Florida and Middle District of Florida. |
